Become a drone pilot specialised in photogrammetry
The course provides the standard training required by law to fly in non-critical areas (see basic course), and includes an analysis of the techniques for the use of drones in the field of aerial photogrammetry. Teaches skills in creating flight plans that ensure image capturing with high-precision metric information.
Practical Flight training
There is a practical group assessment test in which participants will plan a standard flight, fully simulating the procedure which must be put into place in order to effectuate a correct flyover of an area subject to aerial photogrammetry.
What skills will be taught?
Subjects such as land structure and orography will be studied. Trainee pilots will learn to assess the land and flyover areas in order to be capable of spotting potential critical issues such as: the presence of vegetation and large manmade structures, strongly sloped land, areas with little GPS signal, or the presence of water sources.
The importance of photogrammetric flight
To facilitate the work of photogrammetry, measure volumes, topographical surveying, and all of the unique needs of those who work in the sector (i.e. topographers, architects, environmental engineers, civil engineers and other professionals).
Photogrammetry work that is carried out by RPAS (drones) is more easily surveyed; furthermore, drones are safe and effective yet keep costs at a minimum. When using a drone equipped with a camera, it is sufficient to fly over a certain area in order to take photos, without exposing workers to potentially dangerous situations.
